Do you love the humor of David Sedaris? Then you'll want to read "Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary," his new, very funny collection of animal stories.
If you'd like to win a copy, post a comment on this blog with your name or some way to identify you -- not just "anonymous."
Then, make sure to check back on Tuesday, Oct. 12, when I'll randomly select a winner.
Sedaris will be in Charlotte Monday, Oct. 18, as part of his lecture tour. I recently had a great chat with with him by phone, so if you're hankering for his wit and wisdom, read my Q&A.

I'd love to win the book. Thanks for holding the drawing.

"Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk" might be a bad idea for my backyard flower beds, but the story about it sounds cute.
I L-O-V-E David Sedaris!!! I have a collection of his previous books, and would certainly love to have this new book to add to my collection!!!
I love his humor. I grew up in Raleigh at the same time he did and lived in North Hills. I went to the same schools, malls, and even took piano lessons in a tiny smoke filled room like he did. I can't wait to read his new book and I'm really bummed out that I can't go to see his show because of other plans.
I like the idea that animals represent encounters with people - too funny! Pam I.
Oh, how I NEED a dose of David Sedaris! Being unemployed for almost a year, I say - bring on the 'healing humor'. David + animals, hey, I'm there.

I love David Sedaris! I need a copy of the book to have him sign next week when I go see his show. Thanks for the opportunity!
My son is a huge fan and if I win the book, it will go to him, after I read it, of course.
David Sedaris makes me laugh so hard I almost wet my pants! Will be in the front row for his show here. Would love to be holding his new book. Gotta go buy some depends!
Save me the trip to the book store, draw my name please. Can't wait to see him in person next week.

I'm vegetarian, but I love David Sedaris so much that I'd eat the squirrel and the chipmunk if he wanted me to! I'm trying to get to the show, but money is t-i-g-h-t! A brand-spankin' new copy of his book would be the consolation prize of my dreams! Thanks for the opportunity! I'm off to rub my lucky charms ... Amy T.
Years ago in college, our professor told us we'd be meeting an author who was himself once a student at Western Carolina. Our class of twenty or so folks dutifully reported to the lecture that morning (the author was only speaking to our class that hour), and we were enlightened by a funny, irreverent, and brilliant man named David Sedaris. I'd never heard of him, but I made sure to get a ticket to the reading later that night. I brought my girlfriend after I convinced her it would be an unforgettable reading. We had a great time and were all the more shocked when he appeared on the Late Night talkshows a few weeks later. Turns out he'd gotten a bit famous.
Still, he remains one of the nicest and most approachable talented authors I've ever met. What a treat it would be to get a free copy of his book!
I love David Sedaris. Went to his last show in Charlotte and he was hilarious!!! from Renee C
The new book sounds like it would give new meaning to bright eyed and bushy tailed.
I have read some of his books and LOVE them! I am a high school teacher and am rarely able to read what I WANT to read in my spare time, so this would be a very nice win!
I am going nuts just to scramble down some telephone wires to get a look at this new book. (nicki t)
Great Q&A...I wanted more, especially the story that wasn't fit for the C.O.
David Sedaris is a champion.
I have heard him on the radio but would love to read one of his books. Having a wicked sense of humor is how I would like to morph into a writer someday.
