School is back in session, which means summer's ending. So, too, is my Summer Book Giveaway.
For the final giveaway, I've got two copies of "Flash and Bones," the newest thriller by Charlotte's Kathy Reichs.
In her newest novel, Reichs explores a subject in her own backyard -- NASCAR. Just as fans are pouring into Charlotte for Race Week, a worker discovers a body inside an asphalt-filled barrel in the landfill beside the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Soon, forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan is on the case.
Here's my recent story on Reichs' new book.
If you'd like to win a copy, leave a comment here. Give me some way to identify you, not just anonymous. I'll post the two winners on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Kathy Reichs writing and experience is fascinating. Her locales of Montreal which I love, and Charlotte make her novels extraordinary. Many thanks. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
I've watched the show and just found out from your article that it was based on her books. I would love to win one so I can see how good the books are. Usually they are better than the show or movie they are based on.
Would like to read this book after reading the articles about it. Thanks for the review and this offer.

Bones books are okay, but they are nothing like the new Virals series! I wish you would give the new paperback away.
I haven't read any of her books. Thanks for doing the giveaway.

I studied anthropology at Davidson and LOVE the Bones books! Kathy Reichs has a gift for explaining the science in an accessible way. Thanks for featuring her new book!
Kathy Reichs was one of the advisors at UNCC when my daughter chose to major in anthropology with empasis on forensics. She was an inspiration to my daughter and we both read all her books! We get lost in them and can't lay them down until we are finished!

My wife turned me on to her works years ago - now we enjoy them together. Thanks for doing this!

Kathy's books are a good read, relatively simple to figure out "who-done-it" (which I like!), very good science, and not filled w/ gratuitous and excessive sexuality. Started reading her books this summer, and am hooked! Thanks for the 'Give-Away'!
I have read all of her books and very excited about this new one.
Thanks for the opportunity! I am new to Charlotte, and had no idea this author lived here!

This would be a chance to combine my love of reading, especially NC fiction, with my husband's love of NASCAR. A book we could share!

I love Kathy Reichs' books. I have read them all and always look forward to the new ones coming out. I can't wait to read this one, even if I don't win a copy. patecrossroads@yahoo.com
My forensic science teacher in high school assigned us Kathy Reichs' books to read and be tested on. I fell in love with the books and have kept up with them all ever since! I like the television show, but in my opinion they don't come close to the books! I had the opportunity to meet Kathy when she spoke at UNC Charlotte a few years ago. She signed my copy of Fatal Voyage! I would love to have this book!

My favorite 15 year old book-worm suggested I read the series "in order". Don't tell, but I'm willing to skip ahead to read the "race theme"!

Until last week, I had never heard of Kathy Reichs. A co-worker suggested one of her children's books for my young nephew who loves forensic science and NASCAR. I help him with all his book reports and science projects. Since neither of us have read Kathy yet, this might be the start of something good for us. thudson002 at carolina dot rr dot com
My wife loves Kathy Reichs and I would love opportunity to win this for her.
Thanks,

I have enjoyed all of K Reich's books. They are full of suspense and educational. Watch her TV show and look forward to each book she writes. JaniceBookLoverinCharlotte
An author whose books always are enjoyable and unforgettable.
Would love to win this book!
I love Reichs' books. They are so authentic, love that she sometimes writes about places that I know. That she writes about living both in Canada and Charlotte makes it even more interesting. Can't wait to read this book. She has also opened a whole new world of anthropology to so many. Started reading her books after hearing an interview with her on NPR/Charlotte talks. I am a big fan!

Ms. Reichs is the reason I started reading! I've read all her books except this one! Alicat628
Nice. I grew up in a NASCAR family and it is surely ingrained into my soul. Sounds like a groovy book!
I would love to be able to give this to my wife. She is an avid fan of Ms. Reichs books and the Bones TV show.
charliebrown@carolina.rr.com
I am a huge fan of crime-based suspense and thrillers, and I've been a fan of the show "Bones" for years. So, it's a huge surprise that this recent MLIS grad has never read a book by Kathy Reichs! I'm just in-between reads now, so this would be a fabulous next read. After reading, I'll happily donate my copy to one of the local library branches to pass on the pleasure.
Broke college student would love a leisure read!

I love this series. Being a Charlotte native, I especially look forward to the new book!
Kathy Reichs is one of my favorite authors. I would love to win a copy of her latest thriller!
I enjoyed her class back in early '90s at UNCC. Really would love to add her latest book to my collection. My wife is hooked as well.
My birthday is coming up in September and I cannot think of a better present than a good book!
I am a long-term fan of Kathy Reichs so I know that this will be pure pleasure.
Thank you,

I am so excited about reading a crime novel based in our backyard. I would love the opportunity to share the book with my wife and teenage daughter as well! It will be neat, yet a bit frightening, to read about something that happened in our backyard- I know it is fiction, but it will be a great read I am sure! I can't wait to read it!!
trevoralthof@yahoo.com
I really can't afford to buy it but I sure would love to win it! I have read all of her books. She is my favorite author along side Patricia Cornwell and James Patterson. It would also help me with a distraction since my 10 year old son with autism and mental illness is in a therapy home and away from me right now.
I love Kathy reich's books and am thrilled to see one based in Charlotte. Definitely a must read
