Rick Bragg joins Southern Living


Fans of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Rick Bragg can now read him regularly in Southern Living magazine. He's begun writing a monthly back-page column called "Southern Journal."
Bragg's best-known book is "All Over But the Shoutin'," a memoir of growing up poor in Alabama.

He wrote a wonderful piece about his stepson for June's Southern Living. Definitely worth a read!

Dear Rick, I just read your piece on Fathers Day in Southern Living. I have never heard of you but I must say I loved the piece.
You simply accepted your stepson and did not try to change him. It was one of the most pleasing pieces I have read in a long time.

I just finished the Fathers Day article...Your boy, as you call him is try blessed to have you on his side. What a beautif testimony of pure love for a child. You are a better father, even if a step parent then some biological fathers. You have both been blessed.
